Windows XP e` lento con Samba

Clients WinXP SP2 in un dominio gestito da Samba 3.0.7 sembrano essere lentissimi nella lettura dei files (dal server al client) mentre vanno a velocita` normale in scrittura. Il problema non si presenta con Win 2000 (qualsiasi SP).

Per risolvere il problema ci sono due strade:

  • aggiornare Samba (la 3.0.14a che c'e` in Debian non ha questo problema)
  • modificare la seguente chiave nel registry dei clients: 
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanworkstation\parameters]
"enablesecuritysignature"=dword:00000000
